Well apparently my creative writing well has run dry. I've got no diabetes related stories, general life drama, or fun links to share. So excuse me while I take brief break to look for some writing inspiration. I think I really need to get out of the house more...then I'd have something else to say.
Until I return, I'll leave you with this photo from Diabetes 365.
Day 141 (3/3/08) The little things.
Today it's a warm 65 degrees, and I found this lone crocus in our backyard. It reminded me that sometimes when dealing with diabetes or any other chronic illness, you can get caught up. There are always thoughts of the overwhelming numbers, aiming for control, looming complications etc. Sometimes it's hard to appreciate small wonders.
There is no cure for Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes.
Yet.

OK. See you tomorrow.
Jillian,
I love this photo.
For exactly the reason you describe in this post.
(Also, because it reminds me of what lies beneath the several feet of snow just outside my front door... :-)
I'm surprised you didn't blog on how BRETT FAVRE is RETIRING! :(
Wisconsin is in mourning.
I'm wearing black. *wipes tears from dewy eyes*
Shannon, you know me too well, I'm sure I'll be back sooner rather than later.
Sandra, I'm glad to share this little piece of spring with you!
Amylia, let's not even go there. I've been talking to my sister and watching ESPN etc all day. My sister wore her Brett jersey to class. Football will never be the same.
that's a great picture.. I can't wait for spring!
Lovely picture, Jillian. And a wonderful reminder to appreciate the small things. Thanks.
Sometimes it's very easy to get caught up in diabetes and we forget to enjoy life.
But every now and then, something always seems to shake me back to living. :)
How about spring break? Do you take a spring break when you are home schooling? Do you have any plans? It's coming up soon for us and I'm counting the hours!!!
I always say to write when you feel like writing - it can't be forced you know?
I can't see the picture here at work (they block flickr), so I'll check it out when I get home.
