I shouldn't have told them.

Well I won't be taking my driving test tomorrow, because I told the truth about my diabetes. I have never felt discriminated against before diabetes wise. Today that changed. Simply because I was a considerate citizen and alerted them to the fact that I have diabetes, one of the MVA's 17 medical disabilities, I can not walk into the MVA tomorrow to take my test like my friend Danielle can. I was approved, but they didn't send us the approval letter. Without the original copy of the letter, I can't take the test. The thing is we gave ample time, for approval and such. I hate this so much. I was excited and now I'm just upset. Hopefully it will get here sometime next week, but in the meantime the appointment has to be canceled.

Oh Jillian,
I am so sorry you have to reschedule your appointment. Hopefully, this will all get straightened out soon. I'm sure things will work out. Unfortunately, we have to wait longer than we want for things to happen. Patience is not one of my virtues. Good luck with the waiting process!

Oh Jillian, I can still remember getting my first license (a really, long time ago) and I know that you're disappointed that you have to wait.
I do however, congratulate you for your honesty - but it really sucks when honesty makes things harder.

Jillian, I am very sorry this happened to you. The whole paperwork snarl is a bureaucratic insult.
I wish you a prompt solution to the problem (and a good score on the test!!)

I'm sorry it's pushed back. I remember being so excited and nervous, so I can imagine what a let down it must be for you.

Agh, how frustrating! The MVA is aggravating no matter what!

I hope the letter comes ASAP (that would be a great Christmas present) and that you will be driving before the New Year!

jillian,
i know that you are upset about not being able to take your test tomorrow, but please have patience. the beauty of it all is YOU WERE APPROVED! the letter will come. you were honest and they still approved you. that is a HUGE accomplishment. the driving test isn't tomorrow, but it WILL happen, and i am so proud of you!

Sorry to hear about that Jillian. I have been fortunate enough to not be discriminated regarding my Diabetes but I do chose not to relinquish this about me if a situation like this may happen. So, I said nothing when I got my drivers license (ages ago) when going for a job interview or getting a tattoo. I figure, I know the risks and I am in control so this is something that is on a need to know basis and they don't need to know.
Hope that your approval letter comes soon.

Jillian

You did the right thing and that's important, good for you.

Sorry that they messed up with the letter for you, that just stinks. I hope you can take the test before too long and I hope you ace it.

Happy Christmas

Darn... Hopefully one day the system will be better prepared for things like this, so people don't have to think twice about being honest about their diabetes.

Is there any way I can reach you by e-mail? Drop by my blog and send me an e-mail sometime. Thanks!

How disappointing, Jillian. I commend you for sticking by the truth. Unfortunately, no good deed goes unpunished, I guess. Maybe this is a lesson for you to always keep your guard up whenever someone says, "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help."

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas.

Very frustrating. Sorry to hear about that.

I hope you and yours has a great holiday and that this will all be resolved in short order.

Take care!

Thanks for all of your support. Things did get straightened out, but now I just have to get my act together so my parents will let me take the test. The holidays put a damper on my school efforts, and my license is riding on my success in school.
